3-Hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid

[CAS No. 92-70-6]

3-Hydroxy-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid

Molecular formula: C11H8O3 Molecular weight: 188.18

An in vivo micronucleus test of 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid was performed with bone marrow cells of male BDF1 mice. 3-Hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid did not induce micronuclei in the bone marrow cells.

1. Non-bacterial in vivo test (micronucleus test) 1)

 Test results:

One male animal died in the group treated with 700 mg/kg in the dose-finding study. Toxicity did not substantially differ between the sexes of mice. This chemical did not induce micronucleated erythrocytes in mouse bone marrow cells.
